All this talk about bypass valves reminds me of a question I've been wanting
to ask:

Is the "fffff-t-t-t-t" sound that I get when lifting off the throttle to
upshift normal or is this the sign of bad BPV?  It is most noticable under
moderate acceleration (i.e. light boost.)
