Joel:

I just did this, you'll need the following:

Long hex key to reach bumper bolts, preferable 3/8 drive 4 inches long
(forgot size)
Good set of metric sockets and wrenches
3/4 drive breaker bar for crank bolt
Pipe to fit over breaker bar for extra leverage (I used a 4 ft one and
it was a struggle)
3/4 drive torque wrench that goes up to at least 260 lbs-ft
3/8 torque wrench for small bolts (water pump, tensioner, etc.)
Blue loctite
OEM coolant (red) 4 litres
Themostat and seal
Optional - 27 mm 3/4 drive socket and ratchet for turning engine by hand
Time - about 10 hours comfortably

Its not too bad of a job, just time consuming and having all the right
tools and parts is half the battle.

Good luck!

Sean

Aside from the toolkit you rent, what other non Audi specific tools are
required for the timing belt, water pump, serp belt, crank seal, etc.
change procedure? Just want to make sure I have everything on hand.

Thanks,

JR
