You will need at least 3" of shaft on the hex drive to clear the bottom of
the bumper.
I "invested" in a "t" handled tool with about 10" of reach.  My guess is 4"
is close to the minimum length needed to comfortably clear.   Having a
longer tool be a big help when you go to slip the bumper assembly back on &
find the holes for the bolt don't want to align back up properly, so if
you're faced with having to purchase a 6mm hex drive, I'd recommend a bit
longer is a bit better than too short
