Subject: [s-cars] Drivetrain Clank

Have any of you out there experienced a noise from your drivetrain that sou=
nds like a a hollow clank clank clank.

Could a worn U-Joint or carrier bearing on the driveshaft make this noise? =
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. I drove around in a par=
king lot tonight for a half-hour until a cop stopped me and told me it was =
late and I should go home!

Thanks -AP

Andrew-

Any out here? Yes, me. Now. I swear Pizzo must be gallivanting around in
my car whilst I sleep. My edumucated guess is it's the driveshaft carrier
bushing you reference above. It sounds different than yours though which is
why I'm replying, more of a rat-a-tat-tat, which I can also reach back to
the driveshaft tunnel and feel. 2nd-3rd gear / load dependent.

My guess on yours is follow Serge's suggestion and check your end joints for
lubeability. Wish that were my issue, I'll be addressing mine with that
carrier-fabrication tip as I'm doing my tranny.

P.S. heh, your cop-story was pretty funny. F'n pigs, typical. Tell HIM to
fix your f'n car then. The MAN keepin' us DOWN. FIGHT THE POWER! 8-)
