Another troubleshooting option...get someone with VAG-COM to look under the
skirt of your ill beauty. Where do you live? Who's nearby that has VAG-COM,
or now also the Shade Tree stuff? If you're within driving distance of
southeastern MA, I'd be happy to help!

As was my fear, it looks like something's still rotten. The summary of
recent events:
Yesterday morning my 95.5 S6 is running great, but the battery had been
dying for a while so I bought a new one from NAPA. After I installed the
battery (and hooked up the 2 green connectors under the back seat which had
been disconnected) car runs badly - doesn't snap on accel, misses & stumbles
going up hills, but seems to run ok at WOT. I've disconnected the 2 green
underseat connectors again, disconnected the battery for a time (we all do
this now after years of using Microsoft products) and reconnected it, and
added 2 cans of methanol to be safe from water contamination. The only
fault code is 4444. I've done the "output test" for the injectors, ISV,
CCSV, and WGFV, which all clicked like I guess they're supposed to.
Yes I'll get ProDiag, but I love for some lister to have some insights so I
can fix it now.
Thanks in advance,
Phil Mische
