Use natural citrus cleaner widely available in grocery stores in small 1/4
pint clear plastic container.  It's derived from the oil in the peel &
smells like oranges.  The ultimate for cutting gums of all kind - you'll be
able to wipe chewing gum away.  (I recently used too much on my boat carpet
and it actually released the contact cement holding the carpet in place)
