If anyone is interested I just got off of the phone with Moriss
dampeners, www.morissdampeners.com I talked to him to see if it was ok
to send out his quote.
My comments on quote below.
So basically for a little more than a koni sport of a bilstein HD you
can get a re-build able bilstein.
He gave me a quote on the rears but he didn't realize they where not
struts.
The only problem with the adjustable biltiens is that it is rebound and
bump at the same time.
The problems with Koni's is that they are an air/oil shock that allows
both to mix, this will result in the shock fading after a few laps.
Moriss also claims that Koni's on a shock dyno will vary up to approx
30%.
So it is possible that if you have koni adjustable you should pay less
attention to where you have them set shock to shock and more how it is
behaving, this is my extrapolation.
Double adjustable Koni's are still cheaper than adjustable bilstiens,
but if you think you can tell the difference then this might be an
option.

Trevor,
Good talking with you today!
Below is a quote for a proper street/motorsport solution for your Audi.
This setup can be modified/tuned at anytime. I would also recommend
using a spherical bearing front strut mount and solidly mounting the
upper part of the rear shocks. We can convert the lower bushing in the
shock to a spherical bearing as well.

Audi S4 (street/race)
P36-0369
Inverted 36mm mono-tube Bilstein strut
$121.49ea. $242.98front
Moriss 36mm revalve/conversion to "take-apart"
$48.62ea. $97.24(front)
B46-2066
Eibach ERS race spring
0900.250.0400 (475lbs/in rate) $65.00ea. $130.00(front)
Option #2 (Convert above setup to adj.)
Convert Bilstein 36mm struts and 46mm shocks to adj. using Bilstein adj.
rods/parts. Labor and parts included.
$273.82ea.
$547.64(front)ea total option 1 and 2.
The units are serviceable and rebuildable. Bilstein adj. parts adjust
both rebound and bump simultaneously.
Moriss can provide any service or additional tuning you may require. We
would require a deposit to begin
work. Delivery would be around 3-6 weeks on Bilstein parts/service.
Give me a call if you have any further questions.
We accept Visa and MasterCard.

Ken, I'm pretty sure you are supposed to run Bilstein Sports with any
lowering spring, the HDs are only for the stock springs. The jury is out
on Koni versus Bilstein (at least in my mind), although the concensus
was always Bilstein I'm hearing more about Koni's these days... Same as
the concensus used to be only for Eibachs, I'm hearing a lot more favor
towards H&R these days too... Best is to find someone that has a setup
and try it out to see if you like it.
Cheers, /James.

Subject: [SOS-cars] Springs/Shock setups...
Anyone run Bilstein HDs with the S6+ H&R spring
(340/330 vs 285/330 for the V8 springs)?
Also, what are peoples opinion on running the Koni's
with the V8 springs? too aggressive for city driving?
I live in Toronto and the roads are average (using
Boston and NYC as a reference = bad) ...
i currently have HD's mated to Audi 100's springs
(installed by PO - rears are beginning to leak)... the
set up is actually pretty good around the city (put on
7000km without any problems) but am concerned about
tracking it with the soft rear end...
opinions/suggestions welcome...
