Ok, gotcha, sound like I'm going to have to drop the line in order to make this fix... I was hoping there was a trick to fixing it in place, I'm worried the ends (connectors) of the line will be seized in place making the removal a pain, that's why I wanted to just cut the line where it is and slip the hose over it.

You can get a tubing cutter gizmo, that would be used before you'd flare
a tubing, like a brake line and such. It has two rollers that go on the
back side of the tubing, and a cutter wheel that you move into the tubing
with a thumb screw. Tighten the cutter wheel, and spin the cutter around
the tubing a few times ... presto, a nice clean cut.
