Gents,
I would like to send out a special thank you to Bob Pastore for helping me out w/ this rear differential explosion. Bob was very responsive to my e-mail questions and very prompt to get a Rear Torsen Diff from a Audi V8 shipped out to me today. With any luck I should have my car done Friday and back in business.

If you haven't done business w/ Bob...I highly recommend it.

Thanks Again to all who also offered up help and solutions.

Cheers

Cody Payne

Hey Bob,
I am not sure what fits and what doesn't of the 3 diffs you listed. I do know that the rear diff of a Audi 100 does "not" work as the gear ratio is not the same...based on ETKA I "think" I found 3 part numbers but not sure which one it is a 92 UrS4.

017 500 044J or C or D

Appreciate any help/advice you can provide

Cheers

Cody

PS- Just filed a claim w/ my insurance company (StateFarm) to see if they will cover the damage from the storm or if I am dreaming (but sounded positive on the phone)

Cody:

I have a torsen rear diff from a v8.
The torsen is $325 plus $25 for crating ( I use an industrial plastic storage crate) plus shipping. I can ship on Monday!

Please advise ASAP. BTW, I might have a open diff from a 93 somewhere, and I definately have a non locking open rear from my 95.5 EDL car ( replaced with a torsen)

Best regards,
Bob

Importance: High

Well I got some pretty bad news just now on the rear-diff of my 92 UrS4...the rear diff is TOAST...I mean the left side internals are in pieces. Probably from the snow storm from last week and actually taking the car out of the garage to drive her in the snow.

Anyways I need to find a "used" rear end differential w/ low miles from either a Salvage Yard or someone parting out their UrS4. As a NEW Diff is going to cost....get this....$3700 bucks plus labor!!! This totally stinks as I was suppose to have a SCCA Solo2 event on Sunday w/ Driving School on Saturday (maybe should include "Don't Drive in the deep snow..dumb ass" section of the course)

Anyways..there is my plea...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely

Cody "snowballz" Payne
