Calvin,
Rotating masses will affect the acceleration of the
vehicle but not the final hp figure. AWD drivetrains
have more loss because power is transmitted through
more gears. Each pair of gears through which power is
transmitted exacts a small percentage loss, typically
about 0.5-1% of the total power put into the pair of
gears.
