On a 2 hour trip to Colorado Springs yesterday, I noticed my boost gage
(electronic dash display on early S4s) was stuck on 0.8 bar. At about
75 mph, I punched the throttle and the car felt like it was normally
aspirated - no boost. I have the MTM 1+ chip and the car ran great for
about the first hour of the trip. Ever since, the gage is stuck on 0.8
bar. It still accelerates but no longer puts you back in your seat as
it did before. Hoses? - I haven't switched to my Samcos yet but I don't
hear the SSSSSSSSSSSS sound that I have read about in the past. BPV? -
Could the bypass valve have failed in some capacity? ECU? - Are the
above symptoms a result of a loose, unsoldered chip on the ECU?
Further, the turbo whoosh sound is much fainter as I am not sure if I
can hear it or not. Please help me get my boost back. Thanks.
