Gentlemen,
After a very long weekend of field stripping my engine bay to replace
t-belt, head gasket, various and sundry hoses, belts, PS pump, motor mounts,
etc., all of which went well (but slowly) with help from Adolph Coors and
the recently Audi-liberated Chad Tobin, I am in the home stretch, and the
dipstick tube will not go back into its hole.  I’ve lubed it, and even
machined off a little bit of the lip that gets in the way when trying to
reinsert it, and I’ve tried with the O-ring in the hole and on the tube.  It
went in fine when the EM was not on the motor, but now it doesn’t want to go
into the hole. Any help out there?
