[s-cars] RF Remote on 95.5 S6A stopping working

Hey, anybody seen the following:
RF remote stops working.
Replace battery in RF remote.
Program remote, works fine for a little while, then stops working.
Check RF remote battery strength, it's fine.
Reprogram RF remote, works fine for a little while, then stops. Little while
in this case is something like a few hours.

What is getting programmed? Some sort of memory in the alarm system? What
allows this memory to retain whatever was put in there? The only change that
comes to mind is the car battery was replaced about a month ago with a new
Interstate. Timeline does not seem to coincide, but one never knows. Might
there be some sort of eenie-weenie battery in the alarm ECU to store this
sort of programming, and it has gone toes-up? No mention of any of this in
Herr Bentley, nor does an archive search yield anything useful. Haven't
pulled the alarm ECU yet to eyeball it. Any suggestions?
