Hi Chris:

Haven't done the actual installation yet, but the costs escalates
quickly.

In order of cost and performance:

1. Euro H1/H1/H3: $600
2. Euro with H1 HID aftermarket kit: $1200
3. Euro HID OEM: $2200

#1 Normally a big improvement over stock, but the stock projectors
aren't as bad as the older Audis.

#2 there are various aftermaret HID kits ranging from $450-$600
depending on the components. This is the most cost effective way to get
the HIDs. Be careful of substandard quality and focusing the HID bulb
can be an issue.

#3 is the factory option HID available only through the european dealer
network. Arguably the best light output as its designed as a HID from
the get go. Its made by Hella and has top quality ballasts and comes
with leveling motors.

I'm saving up for #3!
