I suggest you should cross-post this thread to the VAG-COM list also.
Hopefully the answer will pop out of somewhere.  My experience is that
most of this adaptation stuff that is not in Bentley or any book you
can buy is not formally taught  and mostly learned by trial and error,
and the dealer would probably have to go to Audi for help.  Many techs
with the answers don't want to be responsible for helping someone into
an area without a reset to factory settings option.  I don't have a
clue what channel to adapt, but I would look at measuring block values
to see if correct rpm is reported there.
