Bob:

Even tho Mr. J's most notable "hood job" was on my wife's A6 Avant, the fix
is the same. And, the avoidance of the resultant aftermath was most
appreciated.

I went to start my weekend project this morning and found my hood latch stu=
ck. I pulled the hood release under the dash and only one of the latches (=
passenger side) releases while the other (driver side) sticks. Is there an=

When I've had this problem on my Volkswagens, and it seems to always be the
driver's side, I simultaneously pound (gently) on the corner of the hood
while pulling on the hood release. Or have a helper just pull up on the
hood while you pull on the hood release.

My second Blaupunkt Toronto's display is also going bad. I cant fix them and
will send them to Blaupunkt for repair.

Has anyone had their Toronto repaired by Blaupunkt? If so, how much did it
cost in parts and labor and most importantly, did the same display problem
recur?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi everyone..
I just picked up an ABY S2 motor.
It has 120,000kms on it.

I am going to do all the regular maintenance while the motor is out.

I am wondering if I should stick with a stock clutch setup or do some else?

The S2 part#s:
Clutch plate: 034 141 033 A 240mm
Pressure plate: 077 141 117 L 240mm

The urs4 S4 parts:
Clutch Plate: 034 141 033 240mm
Pressure plate: 034 141 117G 240mm

I am priety positive that I can use the S4 setup. I was just thinking of
buying a stock clutch kit for the S4?

Should I just keep what I have? 120,000km=around 70,000 miles. The fact that
I don't know how the driver/s of this S2 drove the car makes me want to
certainly change the clutch.

Opinions?

Sach sport clutch?

Thanks
Josh

Hi,

I=92m in a desperate need of a coil set for diagnosis. I really don=92t want
to repeat Igor=92s experience and buy a complete set of coils to discover
the problem lies elsewhere. Any lister in Montreal to give a hand =96 or a
coil set. Note that it doesn=92t require any cut wire or splicing. The
only thing which won=92t be original after the swap back and forth will be
two black tie-raps. I offer a 12 pack of your preferred beer to taste on
the shaded lawn while I=92m wrenching.

Pleeeeeeease!

The new vw's require a more agressive maneuver, a drill and badge removal,
wv's lock in the center only since 95 or so IMS.

The S car is pretty simple if the cable hasn't snapped. Make a hook out of
a
coat hanger, and go fishing for the cable that crosses under the hood. Lift
up on the rubber seal below the hood, the cable crosses about 4in back from
the front of the hood line. Snag and pull...

Any more questions on the procedure, Bob Pacifico is alumni cum laude;

Thanks for the advice. I performed the "Bob Rossato two-man" proceedure an=

Can it be adjusted? I haven't opened the Bentley just yet but that will =

Sorry Igor. I remember one lister selling a complete set of coils after
he discovers spark plugs were the culprits. I was pretty sure to
remember your name but also found strange you could do this sort of
things. After taking my nerves out, it seems my urS6 also affects my
memory.

Wow! Thanks for all the help on how to prepare my car. I'm gong to be
busy.

Now.. as for the tunes. I won't be using them on the track, of course, but
it would be nice to have some on the long trip from FL to the Glenn. Has
anyone seen this problem?

The 10 disc changer worked great when I
bought the car. Recently, when I change the mode to CD, the head unit
will only display the disc and track number but will not play. I can
change to any disc loaded in the magazine, but all yield the same
results. It's almost as if the player is waiting for me to hit the play
button... any help on this one ?

thanks!

Mine has been doing the same thing for the past two months. What I
suspected was a low battery, and indeed, the electrolyte was down by 2.5
inches, roughly. After filling and pulling the relevant fuse to reset
the remote locking, the key worked, but I noticed the battery wasn't
being fully recharged. Unfortunately, my test plan was disrupted by the
rear left interior lamp being accidentally turned on by some hanging
clothes, so I am not sure at the moment whether the battery is operating
normally or not. Time will tell, I guess. However, operating the car
on Thursday the key started working again, and was still working today,
Saturday.

I'd suggest checking your battery for fluid level, and the jump-start
post voltage when the engine is charging the battery (13.6 volts) and
when the engine is off (12.6V).

Is there a shift knob that has the black plastic dimpled ring around the

same.
