tool will NOT fit the 30v; there is a different tool. The t-belt is
tensioned via a piston driven by oil pressure. You will need to push this
back in; push firmly, but be patient.

Bentley has a CD for this.

This job is easy - the second time. The biggest hurdle is the bumper. Good
luck.

Subject: [s-cars] Timing belt question - not an S-car go

I have offered to change the timing belt on my
brothers 1999 A6 with 30v-V6. He doesn't want to pay
the stealer. I have done a 12v before and of course 5
cylinder cars. Anyone done one of these?? Is there a
Bentley for this motor? What tools are needed?
I am a bit concerned about trashing 30 valves instaed
of the normal 12.
Lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my!
