[s-cars] Paint woes

Absolutely inexcusable. Talk to the owner and ask him if you can borrow a
magnetic sign that you can stick in the side of the car that says,
"paintwork by XYZ body shop." If it were his car, how would the paintwork
have been done?
How did they prep the fenders before painting them, and did anyone think to
say "Hey this is going to look like sh!t when it's done, we may want to call
the owner and see what he thinks."
I've never seen a shop do that before. Fixing the chips that you are
painting over is part of the job. Period.

Subject: [s-cars] Paint woes
Hi all,
So I finally get a call from the body shop to come and check out the
repair before they finish assembly.
Replaced hood, bumper trim, grill, radiator and air cond condenser due to
a loony stuffing her trailer hitch into my grill.
Repaint hood, bumper, bumper trim and blend paint onto front fenders -
reassemble with new grill etc. Her insurance covered it.
The bummer is the cheap SOB's did not bother to fill the rock chips on
the parts they did not replace.
So now I have a new hood and bumper trim and painted over chips on the
fender flares and bumper.
It really bums me out as it would only have been a little extra work to
make it perfect.
The body shops comment, " The insurance will never pay to fix the chips
as they were already there. You should have told us you wanted them
fixed and paid extra etc etc"
My comment - you have 3/4 of the front of the car (hood) perfect like
new and the rest done totally half assed with painted over rock chips.
Im bummed and kick myself for not following the work more closely.
Anybody been through this sort of thing before?
Damn it never ends
