Charlie:

The Euras repair database shows a fairly long list of procedures to diagnose
the E-04 error.  Most have to do with components on the motor printed
circuit board. To me, the bottom line is since these changers are readily
available for under $50 on eBay, it doesn't pay to engage yourself in
complicated diagnostics and repair.

I received this query on Sony CDX-A30 failure codes, probably from
his finding my web page on CD changer substitution.

Does anybody have suggestions on the problem, and possible solutions?
He didn't say if this is installed in an Audi, so I can't tell you that.
