AttaBoy !!!
KC probably needs all the help we can give.  I have this feeling this
is not the first time the question was asked.
I think I would suggest cleaning the contacts and protecting the
connector with a good electrical tape for now.  Even Stabilant or the
Marine contact enhancer Caig  recently on the list is not overkill for
these contacts.
