[s-cars] up a creek and found a paddle: timing belt on S6

Hey everyone,
Well, I managed to pull it off. Broke two wrenches(how much damn torque does
this thing require?!?) but finally managed to break it loose with a third,
much beefier one. This involved three clamps, one clamp holding the crank
pulley against the lower frame bar and two clamps preventing the front motor
mounts from moving up when the engine is lifted up by the turning motion. On
the wrench went a 6 foot long hollow pipe which provided me with the
necessary leverage to break this monster loose. Tightened it the same way at
the end. After all is said and done, I would not attempt this endeavor again
without the tool. All in all this project was a tremendous PITA; I've done
three timing belts before this, on an NG, MC and AAH engine and this is by
far the most difficult out of all of these, mostly due to the removal of all
the godforsaken trim pieces/bumper and the unbolting of the radiator. Let it
also be known that the water pump and timing belt were original from the
factory and had 122,000 miles on them. Car purrs like a kitten
now..apparently the water pump was making some noise before(not surprising).
Thanks to everyone who responded with ideas and moral support. Definitely
not a fun task.
Regards,
Rokas
