[s-cars] sticky ignition

Hi, a friend of mine has a 95 A6 with the sticking ignition problem. I assume
it is the same problem that we have with our cars. She turns the key to start
the car and if she doesn't turn it back it sticks and the starter keeps
running. Anyway she had a new part (the plastic piece?) put in but it is still
sticking. Anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this. Thanks,
