The crank lock will immobilize the crank pulley, but if the crank bolt is
locktited to the internal crank threads, then part of the torque applied to
back the bolt out will be transferred to the crank itself, and therefore to
the locking key on the pulley. So, I spose its possible to shear the key
even if the pulley is held solid.
