Paul,

Thanks for all the input.  Did you host the big gathering over the summer?  If you're that far away I don't think I can make it next weekend.  I've got a young family tugging at my heels.
If your further south that could be a possiblity.
What exactly is the part you speak of?  The problem is, the keys also resist in the door locks as well and I have no remote.  I guess the idea of audi coming up with a fresh key is a pipe dream.
