Hello,
I did my first timing belt replacement last weekend. All went smoothly
thanks to the excellent write up on the urs4.com website. The crank bolt
came off nicely without any problems and the crank seal was easily replaced
with the seal pulling tool. The old belt was replace about 4 years ago and
had about 80k on it. It looked brand new and did not have any cracks.
The most difficult part of the job was getting the belt on the right cogs
while trying to adjust the tensioner. I found that the belt tension was
best set while minutely rocking the crank back and forth while holding a
wrench on the tensioner.
BTW I got my parts and rented the tools from Force5 Auto in Concord, NH.
My two cents,
Jack
