[s-cars] My 6-speed is dying/question

As best I can tell they use the same ring and pinion, p/n 01E 409 143B.  So,
should be okay, assuming that's the problem.  Of course you've got to ask
yourself, if you're getting wear in the ring and pinion are there any
particles from them that may be starting to affect the rest of the gears.
Obviously a good thorough inspection and cleaning will be needed when you
tear it apart.
