I was beginning to think the same thing, but an ex-lister (James Yi) sent me
an e-mail today saying that he did indeed buy the bracket from his dealer as
a separate part (and only ~$20 too). BTW, I did see the nice write-up by Ron
Einblau, but getting a custom bracket made will probably be a lot more than
$20. If the original held for 10 years, the replacement should last for at
least that long.
