I should have also added that I delayed getting DSL again because I was
waiting for Earthlink to be able to provide me service so that I could get
their national dial-up monthly minutes, which BellSouth does not have. It
was not available, as it turned out, due to their systems apparent
incompatibility with the optical cable run in my area (not that that really
makes sense), but I finally went with BellSouth when I got fed up with the
cable service. Of course, after six months of waiting, I signed up for
BellSouth and got an email from Earthlink three days later saying that they
could now service my DSL needs. Just perfect...
