Well, my '94 S4 has been gone for a few weeks. Its daily driver
replacement is a week-old Evo 8. Not planning to get involved with
Volkswagen products any more, so I guess it's time to unsubscribe from
Audi-related lists.

I've enjoyed several years of mostly lurking on this list. I wish I had
time to meet more of you - you seem like a friendly bunch of auto
crazies. But, between family, work and trying to do twelve to fifteen
track days a season, not much time left for other socializing. So, no
S-Fests for Victor.

I do think that, as a group, you need to get out to the track more.
Spirited street driving or standing around drinking beer and admiring
cars are nowhere close to driving on the track on the fun scale. The
downside is that once you acquire the skills to actually go fast, you
will realize the limitations of the Ur-S as a track car. It doesn't
matter how big your turbo is or how thick your rear sway bar is - they
are, shall we say, ponderous on the track. This, of course, contradicts
the concept of Ur-S being Vaterland's greatest ever gift to mankind and
may thus cause loss of sleep, increased desire for two-seaters, etc.

I will probably attend some NE Quattro driving schools next year (after
doing a dozen of their events in '93-'01, I haven't done any for a
couple of years). If you see a guy in a yellow/blue helmet driving a
yellow twin-turbo RX-7 with shiny 18" wheels, please stop by and say
hello. I'd love to get an update on what's going on on this list.

Cheers,
Victor
