>There is a tube that runs under the passenger side of the car that vents
fuel vapor on warm days .......
Thanks for the tip. I need to find this tube and see if that's where my
fuel smell is coming from. I've had the S-car for 2-1/2 years, and I often
smell gas when I park, usually on a hot day. I also pick it up sometimes in
the cabin when stopped in traffic on a hot day. (I've rehearsed a fast
evacuation plan in my mind a number of times). I can't count how many
times I've stuck my nose under the hood or under the car in the garage and
in parking lots trying to find a leak. The only thing I'm confident of is
that the smell isn't originating under the hood. I usually get the biggest
noseful from the right rear wheel well. With all the searching, I have
never been able to find the slightest trace of liquid gas anywhere near the
fuel lines or the mountings.
