My MOM of, all people, found this ad at her work and

it. Of course I'm DOWN as the E24 styling is my all
time fav for bmw.

Yeah, certainly one of my favorites. I owned one years ago. Nice car.
Don't know much about this
particular model, the L6, beyond that it contained
yards and yards of leather and power everything.
It is the "luxury" version of the 635csi... meaning optioned out to the hilt.
The "L" also was only available with an automatic trans.

Normal 635csi US SPEC 3.5L motor. Something like
210bhp.

The US spec 635 should be rated at 186hp. They move out pretty well.

Anyone have any experience with these cars? Does the
price sound reasonable? Lightly driven, it appears.

They are good cars. Inspect VERY carefully for rust. If the car has spent
life anywhere in the midwest... keep moving. They develop terminal rust
(believe it or not) on the tops of the front fenders. Rear fender wells and shock
towers are also common problems. Once the rust begins, it seems there is no
stopping it on the 6's. BTDT!!

The engine is a very good one... : the "big 6." Longevity is not like an
Audi. You can typically expect to do the head between 150-170k. Many times the
bottom ends are shot by that time as well.
