[s-cars] Tie Rod end removal?

Ron;

I'm assuming from your post that you can't unthread the tie rod end out of
the tie rod.

The threaded end of the tie rod is slotted and bevelled like a collet. The
nut on the tie rod end pushes a compression sleeve against the bevel and
collapses the tie rod onto the tie rod end threads to lock the assembly.
Backing off the nut usually leaves the compression sleeve in place. A few
well directed love taps with a hammer will move the compression sleeve and
release the tie rod end. Now all you have to worry about is the corrosion
welding the threads together :o)

Iv'e got the end out of the eyelet and backed off the locking nut, but I
cannot get the thing to budge from the assembly. It's hard to get much
torque on
it cause their ain't no nut to put a wrench on. There's got to be a trick.
