[s-cars] How to test a BPV

I am hoping there is an easy way to test the BPV.
I replaced mine because I was getting a noise that I thought was coming
from it. Well when I replaced it I installed the new 710n in the same
way the old one came out, and just discovered that the old one was
backwards..and so the new one was installed nackwards.

Could this have damaged the new BPV?
