Hit 160K and car is now stumbling. I haven't done a full tune up in a
while, just got plugs (F5DPOR), spark plug boots, air filter, & valve cover
gasket (sucker is leaking) from Rod @ the Parts Connection.
I've replaced 2 POS (power output stage/piece of s...) with used units from
Dad's $110 (6 month warranty). Rod @ Parts Connection has them for $179
list $350. Where else can I buy for cheaper? I thought these were no
longer manufactured? I think it's time for a NEW one vs. used.
Incidentally, the water trap hose got blown-off and when I went to remove
the plastic cover that covers the POS & water trap, it shattered. I guess
from all the turbo heat and old age, the plastic got brittle.
I've never replaced a valve cover gasket on the AAN. Any Tips? Do I need
anything else besides hand tools (sealant)?
