I agree $900 is expensive. In fact it's ridiculous. That's the glass insurance
game - the service providers rip-off the insurance companies who, in turn,
rip-off the consumer through high(er) premiums. On the bill that is going to the
insurance company I have the
following items:

Windshield = $425.88 (this is for the aftermarket windshield) (but probably
available for $298 on a private deal with no insurance)
Labour = 3.8 hrs (BS - probably only 1.5 hrs but that's the game) at 44.5 =
$169.10
Adhesives, etc = $48
Moulding = $95 (no way around that one)
Subtotal = $737.98
PST =$55.35
GST = $51.66
Total = $844.99  (all in CDN$)

Plus the extra that I paid on the side deal $47 plus taxes = $53.98
Total deal to service provider = $898.97

I did check with Chris at VM - an OEM windshield through them was going to
be CDN $465 with my discount so I was happy in the end only paying $253.98 ($200

deductable plus the side deal $53.98).
