Folks,
I've waged the fmic install/lltek bumper battle (16 hrs) this weekend. Only have to paint and put the cover back on.
I thought I'd post a few observations.
Though costly, this Dave Stone creation fits like a glove. In short, if anyone can come up with something as good at any price, god blessem! Like the majority of these repairs, the first time through takes a lot of time and note that this is with a kit (well about as much kit as you're gonna get for a urS fmic.)
Thanks to all the CO men that helped Dave engineer this. Or, thanks for talking him into building it. I am sure that it took many many hours to think it through and then try how many approaches before coming up with the design.
Impressions.. none yet.. only drove it around the block.
WRT the lltek lower valence, I am sure that this too took many hours of engineering. For all the effort, I wonder why they just didnt do a whole new front bumper cover.
The glue is still drying but as I had the bumper off, I am sure that that made it way easier, though still no piece of cake. I dremmelled myself silly.
Looks great so far and maybe if I'm up to it I could paint it later tonight.
So, with luck the whole pig will make it to sfess. I can't say it will be pretty (bling is next years job) but it should be dancin'
cheers
