Yes Mike, pull the panel by grabbing it from the front (close to the glass), remove the switch and gently take it apart (the tabs brake easily), you can clean the contacts and check for cold solder joints (mine had one), mines been doing fine ever since I fixed it !
One way to test the rotary switch is to give is a tug down or up without turning it, if it returns to it's proper position, then the contacts need refreshing...

I'm beginning to experience the dreaded sunroof
gremlins. Driving down the road the roof will decide
to pop up on its own. So now I have to wonder if it
will decide to go wide open during a downpour - I'd
rather get ahead of this problem now.
I don't recall anyone saying weather switch contact
cleaner can do the job, rather than complete
replacement. Any ideas?
