OK all, this is the deal.  Any others that want in on this deal, please send in your order with a memo mentioning this deal or my name (McVay) so that we all get credit.  It looks like we have about 5 people interested at this time.  Any others?  I don't mind waiting my turn and I know at least one other was thinking springtime, so I think the lagtime between chipping might be ok.  Please let me know at jjmcvay at juno.com  I have no financial connection with these guys other than getting the same deal as you guys.

Here is what the rep. for Mihnea says:

"I have been in contact with Mihnea and this is, I think, the best offer 
we can come up with:

With 5 to 9 sales we can offer the standard 3 bar chipset plus the 
appropriate 3 bar VMAP plus sockets for the chips plus shipping to the 
contiguous 48 states for $485 per unit.

If 10 or more units are sold then we can improve the pricing a bit more to 
$460 per unit.

Some caveats:
1.      Our on-hand supply of VMAPs will be overwhelmed by a group purchase 
such as is under consideration.  Obtaining them will require some time 
which is out of our control.
2.      The chips, etc., will be shipped on a DIY basis.  If installation 
services are desired this can be accomplished but it will take a while.  I 
have only one "spare" ECU and the process is this:  I modify the ECU 
and 
ship it to the customer (there is a $1,000 core charge just to be sure I 
get an ECU back) and he installs mine and ships me his ECU to test to be 
sure it's in working order and then I return the core charge and modify 
this one for the next customer.  Again, this process will take a while if 
several ask for the service.  The charge for this added service is an 
additional $75.
3.      If a customer already has a 3 bar PT then we can deduct our cost 
for the VMAP or $120 making the 10 or more price for that individual $340 
instead of $460.  (Or $365 instead of $485 if 9 or fewer are sold.)  You 
see I'm already assuming that at least ten will participate.  :-)
4.      Although there is no need for this at this level someone might 
prefer the 4 bar VMAP option.  We can supply one (set for 3.0 bar 
operation) for an additional $70 price differential if it is desired.   Who 
knows, at a later date the customer might be able to make use of the extra 
range.
5.      Orders will be filled in the order in which they are received and 
as our supply of VMAPs allows.
6.      There is probably something glaring that I have overlooked.  ;-)

Payment options:
1.      Personal check or
2.      US Postal Money Order (not Canadian - my local banks become totally 
confused when they see one of these.)
3.      PayPal.  If PayPal is used I request an additional 3% to cover 
their fees.  In actuality, I prefer the convenience of PayPal but it is an
