Teddy-
Once again, thanks for your insights. I have not driven the CTS-V, so
I really should reserve judgment until after driving it.
Unfortunately, I could not attend my local GM event, otherwise I could
have driven the CTS-V as well as a Z06, back to back.

I've always been intrigued by the E320CDI as well.

I would not consider the E60 chassis BMWs- too ugly. Did the ones you
drive have the active roll control and variable assist steering? That
causes a lot of the handling issues, from what I've heard. I think the
E60 M5 might be the only one that is really nice- all rave reviews in
every magazine I've seen.

E39 M5 is really sweet- it's a total package, albeit a rather heavy
one. The CTS interior pales in front of it, IMHO. Apples to apples,
IMHO a used E39 is a much better buy than a new CTS-V. Then again,
CTS-V for $45k is a good price. I wonder what they'll be in a few
years? I might have to look at them in '06.

I wouldn't buy a new Ford Lightning, used ones with the same 5.4L SC
are low $20ks.

Taka
