For Audis this is unique to the C5 A6 for the NA market because the lights are so close to each other and the complaints of a bulb being burned out from typical clueless american drivers.  Jaguar and Land Rover as a minimum also use two bulbs in the NA market due to the aforementioned clueless individuals.
