That was the dealer quote when I did the 
cursory look at the local stealer. Didn't 
try to deal or anything, it was simply the 
initial quote. Since I'm not really shopping,
that's about all of the effort I was willing to
put into it. 

And no, not quite the bank vault feel. But still 
pretty solid, a HUGE step up from the 
previous 3 generations. About on par
with it's primary competitors (Camry, Accord). 

Personally, I prefer the Legacy over the 
Forrester. Just a better looking car, with 
a longer cargo box. For my needs, cargo
length is more important than height.
