These are not that difficult to install... at all.  And $790??? What's with
that?  Is the shop charging $500+ in labor?  For what can't be a 2 hour job.
What price have they given you for the CPS part itself?

$790 Seems awfully steep D.H.  The CPS is located on the front of the head.
You need to get buy the cam timing belt cover, and pull off the cam gear and
timing belt to get to the CPS, which is then relatively easy to change out.
Just sip tie the timing belt securely to the cam drive sprocket so you don't
get the timing off.  Let me know if you want me to try to scan the Bentley
pages in pdf format & email the results.  OTOH if you're not comfortable
with removing the cam sprocket etc. $790 is cheap compared to redoing a set
of bent valves etc.
