I went from an '89 200 Turbo Quattro to a '94 100 S Avant, FWD V6 auto.
It's no TQ.  The V6 will get out of its own way, but you have to keep your
foot in it.  It's slow off the line, and will shift at 2-3K if you're not in
a hurry.
Keep your foot in it and it will rev to 6K, giving it some speed.

Compared to the TQ, my V6 has been super reliable.  After replacing
the ECU (I bought the car cheap because of an ECU killed by a water
leak), I haven't done anything to the car in almost 10K miles.  I couldn't
say that about my TQ, ever.

I miss the TQ, but I'm pleased with the V6 100.
