Yeah, but it was in a 65 VW bug.  Your car doesn't have a clutch cable.  It 
has a master and slave cylinder, connected by a hydraulic line to actuate the 
clutch.  Pull your pedal up and see if it still works at all.  Push it up and 
down to see if you can regain some resistance.  Check your brake fluid 
reservoir, and make sure it is full.  If these things don't get you anywhere, one of 
the cylinders or the line has failed.
