I agree, but this guy is in college and he did the swap himself on a
tight budget. $20 for 240hp out of a 200 engine isn't a bad deal in his
eyes. Compared to $500 or so for a real chip. I would never do it, but
I thought it was pure genius to use the signal for the trip computer
boost gauge as a boost controller.

your boost controller will only give you more boost, but what about
timing
and fuel??? wanna start messing with resistors on the intake temp
sensor, huh?
I guess you'll get around 240HP (if ever) with that sort of mod and run
incorrect fuelling at WOT, with a proper chip you could have around
270-280
HP, that would be safe and the ECU would still be in control of
things...
Just my 0.02 worth of 20VT engines tuning (I do that for a living),
