If you demate the connector, the connector half with the clip on it will
come free immediately. The other half of the connector then just slides out
of the hole "backwards", so to speak. At least this is the way it is on my
'89 200, I didn't check the S4.

Subject: [s-cars] connector holging bracket on the firewall

How to remove connectors which are fixed in the bracket? Example: RPM
sensor and reference sensor in 200tq, or ignition wires coming out of
coils in UrS4. It appears that each connector is locked with a tab -
part of the braket. Logically I would the tab should be bent out of the
way but it is heavy gauge metal and I was skeptical about using pliers.
I had to cut the tab once when I needed to get a connector out and
after that I have to use tie wrap to fix the connector in the bracket.
I have a feeling that the is a smarter way to do it. Unfortunatly, I
don't see this way. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Konstantin.
