Jerry:  Sorry I must have been brain dead when I responded to you post
last night.  I didn't even see that it was about a 96 A4 (I just thought
S-car). So, in partial compensation for sending you down the wrong path
(I am sure you didn't go to far),  I did a search on "KB recall".  I
came up with the Transport Canada notice for all 94 to 96 Audi's  (Fred
does this include you?):
