[s-cars] UrS4 Locks/Alarm Out of Sync - Another Fix

Well, it finally happened - the alarm on my UrS4 went out of sync with the
door locks tonight and set the alarm when the doors unlocked.
Rather than try the "remove the back seat, disconnect the battery" route (it
is winter, after all) I tried a variant of the method suggested by Dan
Hussey which worked well to re-sync the system.
1. Unlock the car with the remote (the alarm sets "ON")
2. Open the drivers door.
3. Pop the hood but don't lift it. Lifting it will activate the alarm.
4. Leaving the driver's door open, lock the car using the remote (the alarm
sets "OFF", the drivers door stays unlocked, all other doors lock).
5. Lift the hood. Remove the cover from the relay box and remove circuit
breaker A2. This cuts power off the alarm/central locking system.
6. Wait a couple of minutes. Unlock the passenger door with the key. Unlock
the rear doors by pulling the lock buttons up. Shut the drivers door.
7. Re-install breaker A2. Replace the relay box cover. Shut the hood.
8. The alarm is now re-powered in the "OFF" position and the doors are
unlocked. Lock the doors using the key and immediately unlock using the
remote.
9. Lock the doors using the remote and the alarm should set.
Hope this helps somebody. I only set the alarm off twice and immobilized the
car once trying to get it off the street in front of the house into the
driveway to work on it. Locking/unlocking with the key re-mobilizes the
car.:o)

Take a "fat wallet" with her.
Try to impress on "poor sister" that this is not acceptable operation
of 20vt. The light is an indicator for low oil pressure, not oil
quantity. One quart low should not activate the oil pressure light.
This is a '94, right ? without oil pressure gage ?
I would ensure that she is checking the oil before adding more. I know
long distance communication about operation of machinery can be
difficult, but a quart every few days should show somewhere.
We have listers in the area that could perhaps help ?
