[s-cars] New Oil Temp Sender - Oil Temp Gauge Still Erratic

I sometimes need to tap my Oil Temp Gauge to get it to respond.  Sometimes
it will hold the temp and sometimes not.  What are possible/probable causes
if anybody can help me out.

The patient is a 95.5 S6.
