Hi Vincent:
I did mine last summer and it took me about 8 hours. It was very
satisfying and the job went well with no problems. I did the t-belt,
roller, s-belt, s-belt tensioner, t-stat, water pump and crank seal.
This was the first time I'd ever done this big of job, since you are
experienced with your 90q20v, you should have no problem finishing it in
time.
The key of course is to be prepared and have all the tools and supplies
at hand. I rented all the tools from Blau and I can't imagine doing it
without it. Besides the regular tools and the ones from Blau it helps to
have a 3/4 drive breaker bar with a 3 ft cheater pipe and a 27 mm socket
to get the crank bolt off. Also, you will need a torque wrench that goes
up to 350 ft-lb or 260 if you use the tool from Blau.
To speed up the process, you may consider removing the bumper the night
before at home and drive it to the shop without it. It can be a little
fiddly to put back on too, esp by yourself.
